In this new school year which will start in September 2018, we are going to have pupils from Nursery (3 years old) to Year 9 (13 years old).
The students who are in Year 9 during the school year 2018/2019 will be opening a new school year each year and they will be able to complete Year 13 in our British School.
English is the lingua franca used in Saint Philip’s British School. Our teachers are English native speakers who have obtained the necessary degrees and qualifications that the British Government requires. Although the main language of a British School is English, some subjects are taught in Spanish namely Spanish Language, Social Sciences, History of Spain, and Spanish Literature. The modern languages which are covered by our curriculum are French and Mandarin Chinese. These two languages are taught by two native speakers of French and Chinese since the students are in Nursery. Our students’ objective is reaching a native fluency in English and Spanish, and a bilingual one in Chinese and French when they complete Year 13.
There are an English native speaker teacher in possession of the qualifications that the British Government requires and a Teacher Assistant in Nursery, Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 .
Saint Philip’s British School is a secular school. However, for those parents who apply for it, there is a possibility to study Religion. Since Year 1, students can be taught Religion in the same way as it is taught in the schools which follow the Spanish educational system.
Our school’s timetable is from 9:00 am to 17:10 pm in an uninterrupted way. The school provides the lunch and the afternoon snack, which are both cooked in our school facilities due to the fact that the school owns a kitchen.
We have three different school routes for those students who do not live in Linares. These school buses depart from Jaén, Andújar, and Úbeda. The buses also take the students back home once the lessons have finished.
The registration period starts on the 1st March 2018 for:
Nursery and Recepcion (3 – 4 years old)
Year 1 to Year 9 (5 – 13 years old)
